“Grief Walk is not a book to read quickly, but to experience. Slowly, like a stroll, pausing on each chapter to breathe and reflect.” - Laurel Chiten

What if losing your way was the beginning of finding yourself?

I thought I was walking through grief.

I didn't know I was walking toward myself.

Grief Walk Finding Grace

When grief showed up, in the sometimes unexpected way it does, Lynne couldn’t sit still. After her Dad passed, she found herself walking the desert trails most every morning, before sunrise, restless and raw, until the desert began to speak to her. What it revealed to her became this book: grief isn’t something to get over or get through. It’s something to walk with. Grief Walk - Finding Grace combines her honest, tender story with gentle prompts so readers can walk their own path and discover themselves alongside her.

Maybe nobody died, but there is grief, tears welling up when you least expect it and knocking you down.

Perhaps a goodbye you weren't ready for.

A job ended suddenly.

A diagnosis.

The life you’ve been building is now gone, or different.

Who will you be? What will you do?

This isn't a book about grief.

It's an invitation to walk with grief, a walk only you can take, and find out who's waiting for you at the end of the trail.

Throughout the book, you'll find space to journal, room to capture your moments of grace, and pages at the back for writing, sketching, or collaging the journey back to yourself.

“Grief and joy can sit side by side. I used to think that was wrong, until the desert showed me it wasn't. Now I let them walk together.”

Hi, I'm Lynne Marie Jenrow.

I'm a writer, photographer, and artist living in the Sonoran Desert with my fella, lots of Gambel's quail, the occasional javelina, and coyotes who sing most nights just past our wall line.

I write about my life in the desert and what it shows and teaches me. I'm a desert-rooted (for now) wanderer.

I love dry washes and the marks that desert monsoon rain leaves behind, the saguaro sentinels, dancing with horses. You'll find me wandering in deserts, mountains, and around lakes if I can find one.

I'm enjoying homemade slow-grown food, a quiet trail before the sun rises, journaling in the margins of my books, following the light for a photograph. Coffee shops and books are my entertainment.

Hello, I'm glad you found me. Let's walk this adventure together.

All of the landscape photographs on this site were taken by me while I was walking along the trails.
